Raechelle Hajduk is a printmaker from Rochester, New York. She attends Nazareth College, and is working towards a BFA in printmaking. She has been recognized by multiple organizations for her outstanding work and appeared in multiple exhibitions. She applies a stream-of-conscious method to her plates when inking to create surreal atmospheres. Lithography also allows for free flowing ideas and spontaneity within her work.
My work explores the dichotomy between the organic chaos of nature and the geometric organization of human-made architecture. I apply a stream-of-conscious method to monoprints, as I spontaneously alter the ink on the plate. Combining impulsivity with diligence creates a unique combination of textures and atmospheres within my work. My work is heavily inspired by architecture and nature trails around Rochester. Printmaking techniques such as hand coloring lithographs, continue to inspire me by referencing Currier and Ives, from the nineteenth century.
